Will Capital One Give You A Second Chance?

After defaulting with Capital One in the past, I was leery about accepting any new offers for fear that they would add the old debt to my new account. After careful consideration, I reapplied and was approved for a new card.

It turned out that the risk was worth the reward because Capital One never did add my old debt to my new account. This was most likely due to the fact that the previous debt was long past the statute of limitations for my state.

So if you ever consider accepting a new offer from Capital One after a previous default, at least be sure that you’ve exceeded your state’s statute of limitations for the old debt.
