Even the devil can cite scripture for his purpose

Not very long ago I gave my life to God. The only reason I mention God is because just like the laws of physics, every action has an equal or opposite reaction. When we speak of God, we will ultimately reference the devil, just as worshipers of the devil will eventually reference God or else they could never get their point across.

To put it bluntly, a debt collector can never be trusted. They will tell you anything and everything that you want to hear in order to trick you into letting your guard down, much in the same way that the devil works. Before you know it, you will have hell to pay.

My point is this: Never take a debt collector for his or her word because nine times out of ten, they are lying to you. Chances are, they will ask you to give them information from one of your personal checks so that they can process the amount owed via electronic funds transfer (EFT). They will then proceed to charge you way more than what you initially agreed upon.

Once they have your checking account and routing numbers, they can easily clean out your bank account. Remember, they get paid on commission. The more they collect from you, the more money they make. Your personal hardships are not their concern. It’s not personal. It’s just business.

When it’s all said and done, if you don’t have it in writing, then the conversation never took place. Don’t ever trust them or you’ll find yourself shuffling around town trying to scrape up enough money to pay your rent, mortgage or car payment.

Whenever you pay a debt collector, never give them personal check information over the phone. Always pay them with a cashier’s check or money order for protection against them draining your bank account and leaving you with nothing.
