Over the years I have had more than my fair share of credit problems. I’ve been bombarded with calls from collection agencies to my home, my job, friends’ homes, and even my parents, trying to track me down for some unknown debt.
Calls from bill collectors, or who I refer to as “The BC’s,” can be very stressful and often times intimidating. They have been trained to talk to you in a way that comes off as very authoritative and they make you feel as if you are a child being scolded by one of your parents for not finishing your chores right after school.
They make you feel hopeless and helpless while laying a guilt trip on you that’s so thick you could choke on it. You find yourself stressed out all day and unable to sleep at night, trying to figure out how you’re going to pay your everyday living expenses along with those delinquent debts that have been looming over you like the grim reaper by a death bed.
I’ve seen it all, heard it all and lived it all. It can be pretty scary, to say the least, but guess what? I survived. Not only did I survive but I learned a few things along the way and took the power of fear and intimidation away from the BC’s and empowered myself… and that’s what you must do.
Knowledge is power. When you possess the knowledge and learn what the BC’s can and cannot do, then the fear and power they hold over you disappear. Fear is derived from the unknown. You don’t really know if they’re going to do what they threaten, so fear sets in.
That’s where I come in. My job is to put your mind at ease. I wanted to use my years of knowledge and experience with bill collectors in order to help others who are currently dealing with debt collector harassment.
I created this blog to help those who now stand where I have been. I consider myself to be a “Subject Matter Expert” (SME). When I help you, it helps me as well because I am able to keep my knowledge on the subject matter fresh and up to date.
